character:
character name: Kairi
info:
au: Kingdom Hearts

  • alternate timeline caused by Aqua messing shit up and using Kingdom Hearts to "fix" everything
  • Kairi as a POH (Princess of Heart) is a major Keyblade wielder, and has been since her world first fell to darkness at a young age
  • Kairi didn’t grow up on Destiny Islands; after Radiant Garden was destroyed, she was trained by Yen Sid and others to help defend the rest of the worlds
  • Namine and Xion are failed copies, Sora takes in all the hearts lost by the worlds destroyed by the Heartless as they are lost and gets majorly messed up by that, Riku falls to the darkness while trying to help his friend recover but ultimately surpasses it
  • Terra/Xehanort is much more powerful due to timeline shenanigans!!!
  • main kids run a little older in age, around 17-18 each

Messing with the all-powerful... well, power of Kingdom Hearts can have some major consequences depending on just how it's done. Abandoning Terra to the Realm of Darkness taught Aqua that very quickly, so much so that trying to save the fate of the entire universe in the only way she knew how sent everything that should've properly happened into disarray. Sora? Out of it and in a daze whenever he's not comatose. Riku? Surely throwing himself headlong into the darkness will help him fix his friend back into what he should be. Kairi? When there's no source of light for you to escape to as your world's falling to the Heartless, you become your own.

By becoming a Keyblade wielder at around the age of 4, but details.

Kairi was born and raised in the beautiful flower-filled world of Radiant Garden, and by far her most poignant memory of those early days (aside from death and destruction whoops) was being introduced to a Keyblade master, one who saved her life from certain doom once. That Keyblade master was an immensely kind young woman, and although the protective "spell" she cast on Kairi's charm necklace didn't quite play out how she probably expected, meeting her would ensure that Kairi survived on anyway, despite any changing circumstances affecting the fabric of the world itself. Awakening to the Keyblade at a very young age -- her blade of choice is Destiny's Embrace, in keeping with Aqua's influence -- she was eventually taken under the care of Yen Sid and others and raised into a proper Keyblade wielding protector, if not candidate for a future master. This is what Kairi is in the current day, a teenager entrusted with beating down the villainous and far overpowered and gross body stealing ultimate threat of Master Xehanort. After all, the powers of darkness stop for no one, and someone needs to step in when the savior who's supposed to be there isn't able to so much as stand up.

As a Keyblade wielder, in testament to her years of training, Kairi knows her own fair share of techniques for how to swing a blade around-- or her fists, or some magic spells. Her status as a Princess of Heart means she's one of seven "princesses" existing among the worlds whose heart is made up of nothing but pure light, with no room for darkness; while this affords no great benefits to her aside from the obvious (like opening Kingdom Hearts if the other 6 are around her or something), she does have greater than usual resistance to dark forces. She's aware of her mission, she's devoted to it, and she's determined to travel across the worlds and save lives until it's completed. But Kairi is also just as much your usual, energetic teenage girl growing into her young adulthood. It typically takes a lot to outright knock her down or crush her thinking, and she possesses more than enough stubbornness, maturity, and attitude to more than stick up for herself and survive (if not thrive) in almost any situation. She's spunky and likes to smile! She perpetually looks on the good side of things in a universe where... not too much good is really ever happening. Above all, Kairi is dedicated to people and keeping everything dear to them safe, so everyone can live together in harmony and celebrate in the light one day again.

what a nice young woman

objective: "Expand your horizons ;)" yes with the winking emote will be one of Kairi's objectives for Court! She'll basically have to meet up and get close with tons of new people in tons of new and different ways for this objective, and break out of that one goal/one Romeo/one true path mindset. I think this one would be really cool to play around with in rp because she's only ever been canonically seen as (and AU Kairi pretty much is) one of those kinds of Mary Sue™, pure devoted princess types who doesn't really get out there and break the mold as much as she could!

sample:
It's a world connected to the rest of them. It has to be; she knows this for a fact. Much like any other one, it's a world she arrived at on her own and of her own volition, and she's not going to bother leaving until she finishes what she has to accomplish here-- yes, just like any other world.

... Still, it's more than a little crooked, isn't it? This place.

"They certainly do a good job of boxing us in, don't they," Kairi sighs out through half-open lips, a trace of exasperation hidden in the tone, plopping down on the peak of the hill adorning the courtyard. Her vantage point at least offers her the opportunity to glance across the grassy expanse of her new surroundings for what must be the second or third time today. Essential, really, even if the land isn't teeming with Heartless or Nobodies or who knows what else (for the moment!). Try as she might, she can't really remember exactly how she came here or what her specific goals must be, outside of the general idea of them. That is something to think on and that is something that's different from the norm. At the same time?

She doesn't want to "go away" anytime soon.

Posed with one leg pulled up to her chest, chin resting on her knee and arm laid across it, she tips her head to the side, a swish of long red hair skirting her shoulders, and smiles. It's a small smile, a tiny one only barely lifting the corners of her lips. But it's genuine. Aside from her own convictions, there's always her gut instinct, and her gut instinct tells her this is where she belongs right now and where she needs to work. She's here to better herself; so many good things will be in store when she does. Essential things.

Kairi's always had a habit of believing wholeheartedly in her gut instinct.
